How to Use the Double Whammy Toy Bat

The Double Whammy provides a fun alternative to the over-sized toy bats on the market today. The Double Whammy has two ways to fling the ball out from inside the bat. The player can choose which hole to fling the ball from simply by facing the bat one way or the other. By using the hole in the side of the bat, one can obtain the best control. By using the hole in the end of the bat, one can achieve the greatest distance.

The player can pick up the ball without touching it with their hands and fling the ball a considerable distance. In addition, the ball can also be popped straight up out of the side hole for a short distance, leaving the player in a perfect position to hit the ball as it comes down – much like in a baseball game without a pitcher. A number of balls can be carried within the bat in case a ball is lost.

Who is the Double Whammy Designed For?

The bat has been tested with wonderful results with people from ages 3 on up. Young children will experience immediate success by flinging the ball farther than they could if they were using a traditional bat. The Double Whammy is so simple to use that coordination is not a problem. Older folks don't have to bend down to pick up the ball. Dog owners won't have to touch a slimy ball when they are playing fetch.

Manufacturing and Marketing Considerations

Although the device works best with a tennis ball, it can also be used with a hollow plastic or Wiffle type ball. The short fins could surround the end hole to allow for the use of a variety of different sized of balls. The scoop-like flap inside the bat could be attached with a live hinge or a two-piece molded traditional style hinge. The hole in the side could also be made larger or the scoop lengthened so that it is easier to scoop or catch a ball as well.

Current sales of over-sized toy bats indicate a perennially solid market for this type of product – especially considering the additional features the Double Whammy provides. The expected retail price would be less than $15. We are currently seeking distributors and manufacturers. Please use our contact form if you are interested.
